Safe Internet for Children: Parental filters in Mozilla Firefox

The internet content is a mix of good and bad things children should not look at the bad part of it. As a parent, it is your responsibility to prevent your child from reading or seeing things you do not want them viewing. If you use Mozilla Firefox, setting Firefox parental controls is the best way to control what your child can access online. Firefox ensures that you get a safe browsing experience. The Firefox development team is committed to giving you comfort while surfing the internet. Your kids would love to browse the internet using Firefox as it has a number of features. Through Firefox add-on it is possible to add parental controls to Firefox so that your children can wander freely without accessing any inappropriate sites.
Firefox does not have parental controls built into the base software package that you install on a computer. So, in order to set Firefox parental controls, you need to download an add-on to Firefox that will allow you to set parental controls. Head over to Mozilla’s Add-On website. Glubble: This add-on allows you to create a private family page where you can monitor and support your children’s online activities. Glubble provides games, chat, safe surfing, and a Family Photo Timeline service for uploading, storing, and sharing your photos online. Glubble integrates Ask for Kids, a safe search engine for children.
ProCon Latte: This add-on is available at addons.mozilla.org. You don’t have to pay anything to download the site. The biggest advantage of downloading this add-on is that it filters out web pages that contain explicit web content. It provides the facility to maintain bad and good lists of websites. With ProCon, it is very easy to manage “black” and “white” lists of websites and pages. You can also make use of wildcards for identifying patterns in terms and to make use of them in list of websites that you manage. For instance it is possible to blacklist all websites that contain the phrase”XXX”.
FoxFilter: Simple and effective! FoxFilter is a personal content filter that helps block inappropriate content using customizable features. Registration & small support fee requested to use the security features, but all filtering features are free!
There are other parental solutions available in the market that can be easily installed in your system. These 3rd party software packages which are used for filtering content through your OS. They also filter content at that point where your pc is connected to the internet. You have to change the settings of the add-on which you have installed.
