Online map with “Fish-Eye” zoom feature
A very exciting zoom technique on online maps has been introduced by ALPSLAB known as Fish-Eye zoom, on which you can magnify selected parts of a map, as if you are using a manual Fish-Eye lens. To activate this feature, you have to click anywhere on the map and then you can place the Fish-Eye lens anywhere on the map. The continuity of features are not interupted while moving the lens over that.
This is a free service launched by ALPSLAB on an experimental website for next-generation map services. ALPSLAB created this feature in association with Emma. The company has developed this technology to view a location in detail, when a user wanted to see, with or without zooming the whole map. This service is targeted to devices with small screens like mobile phones, PDAs etc.
